New Ikier Pro Max not working with Lightburn software

Laser rookie here. Ikier pro max 48w/24w operates machine motion with no problem in Laser GRBL software but Lightburn software only makes it hum and not move until it faults out. Haven’t even tested any laser module functions with it yet. I set it up manually because the Lightburn software doesn’t auto detect the machine. Does the latest version of Lightburn include the Ikier Pro Max drivers for auto detect and machine parameters or do I possibly need a firmware update maybe? Any help is greatly appreciated!

How are you adding the machine to lightburn
Manually or by “find my laser”?

Manually as a GRBL machine, serial/usb, 410x750, front-left origin, auto-home on startup

Tried “find my laser” and doesn’t see it at all

When you connect in console can you post what it says as welcome message?

Also if you type
$i
press enter
?
Press enter, can you post results?

Not at machine at the moment but I can do that in just a bit.

Unless something radical changed recently, the machine should work fine as regular GRBL. There are a number of people here using the Ikier K1 and mechanically/electrically identical Atezr L2.

ALARM: 9
Homing fail. Could not find limit switch within search distance…

ok
Grbl 1.1h [‘$’ for help]
[MSG:$H|‘$X’ to unlock]
$X
[MSG:Caution: Unlocked]
ok

It sounds like its trying to run but does not move.

is there ANY chance you forgot to power on the 24v power adapter ?
also key is in position?

24v is on and key is on. I can close Lightburn and open Laser GRBL and move, home etc.

this is the machine reporting to lightburn its homing failed
I cant see a way lightburn could interfere with the machine homing which is part of firmware

Although ikier only homes on demand not on power up
if you edit your device settings - uncheck Homing on start up
Can you then power on - connect and not get errors?

If so can you go to MOVE and jog?
If not, can you click STOP first, then try again move?

No hum and no fault with the ‘home on startup’ and ‘enable Z axis’ turned off.

I’m only showing Console and Cuts/Layers tabs. How do I open that Movetab I saw earlier?

ok now
go to WINDOW menu at the top > move
Then try to move riGHT and UP.
if it works
If you click HOME button in lightburn will it try to home?

It moves now. I think the drive may not be mechanically tightened on my Z axis.

Doesn’t move when I give command for ‘HOME’ or if I try to move Z+ or Z-. Maybe some of that good ol’ ‘quality control’ in assembly.

well hang on, cant be
It wont work on 1 and not others

Did you enable Z motor on your Edit > device settings?

The Z stage in these machines are notoriously problematic. The motor is very small so it doesn’t take much to stall it.

Z homes (up) first.
