Very good choice. I finally upgraded to Aspire, a little on the pricey side but great software.
I finished building my Primo in mid-2021 and have been using it for hobby projects ever since (e.g., coasters, foam and plywood Halloween & Christmas decorations, machining holes in nema enclosures for work).
Most of my projects have been 2.5D but I have attempted a couple 3D carvings with mixed results.
I’ve used a few different CAM packages such as Fusion, Kiri:Moto and FreeCAD for hobby work and FeatureCAM at one of my previous jobs. I have access to MasterCAM at my current job but I need to go through the training.
I also have a NEJE laser and use Lightburn so I believe the transition to Millmage will be rather smooth.
Added you to the group. Refresh and you’ll see the beta categories on the forum
If you are still looking for new beta testers I have a few CNC machines here at home and have for a few years now. V1 LR3, V1 Primo and a V1 Beta LR4. I have been super excited about MillMage and would love the opportunity to help out in any way!
I would like to help with the beta testing. I have been using ESTLCam, but it is Windows only. I have to run with VirtualBox, which isn’t ideal. I’ve had my MPCNC for 6 years now. I use it for milling and running a laser using LightBurn.
Hey,
if you’re interested in a beta tester with a Snapmaker 2 and some years of on and off experience on a hobby level in CNC i’d love join.
I have a Sienci Longmill MK1 30x30. I’m still what a novice, but trying to incorporate it more so I can make additional products for my Etsy shop. I use a MacBook Pro to run everything.
I’ve tried using VCarve for designing and Sienci’s gsender software but it gets a little confusing and more complex than I’m comfortable with.
I do use LB with my laser setup, so I have a good amount of experience there.
Would love a chance at beta testing @LightBurn
This is not the correct avenue to apply for Beta access - please email Support@lightburnsoftware.com with ‘MillMage Beta’ in the title to be processed through our system.
We are currently not rolling out access in bulk yet.
I have a win10 VM I’m using as well as a win10 machine sitting in a corner. The VM has LB installed on it and works with my laser. It’s not ideal since I have only one monitor on it instead of the two I normall use with LB main on the one monitor and Art lib on another.
I actually did that last October but never heard anything back. So since Oz @LightBurn mentioned it here, I figured I’d get a response.
I did that months ago and got a reply that I would be added when the beta started but never heard anything else. I will email again
If you have already emailed, we have recorded your information.
We are not rolling out access at this very moment, but anticipate that soonish.
Please do not fill up Oz’s inbox with requests. Some people just got lucky here. The official way to request beta access is via the email above, so we can roll out the beta in stages to those that will have the most effect on diagnosing issues.
I started it, so I’m ok with it. I’ve been lax at going through the old submissions, so I’ll follow up there soon, but this is low overhead.
Anyone I "thumbs up"d has been added now.
I would love to be added also as I run a machine grbl at 400x400 800watt or 1hp depending on what I am doing
What’s your experience level?
Approved users categorized as ‘Advanced’ that have emailed us have all been contacted to be rolled in to the beta group.
Pretty advanced I do 3 d profiles and have heavily modified my machine with custom vacuum heads, multiple spindle choices speed controllers custom vacuum star circuit, etc…
I just sent a application earlier today but i might just write a note here to.
I have both a homemade router and a Bridgeport style cnc mill.
I work as a cnc machinist/production engineere, and would say that I am a relatively “advanced” user.
I would also like to be part of the millmage beta!Regards
