Rotary Setup, Changes have no effect

Hello. I am using a RedSail X700 R&B Chinese Laser with Ruida RDLC320-A, on windows 10. The version of LB is 1.1.03. I’m trying to configure the rotary attachment. I go to Machine Settings, I change the parameters (enable rotary, step per rotation, diameter) I write them to the controller. I open the rotary setup option and it does not register the changes. I click on reading settings, it says: settings read from controller successfully, but it does not change parameters. I enter them manually, click Ok, and it doesn’t make any changes. I reopen rotary setup, do the same thing, click Test and it sends an error message: settings could not be restored to controller after test run.

Any suggestion? Does it matter if I’m using the 30-day trial version
Thanks.

Where did you come up with steps/rotation? Mine is a wheel rotary but my steps/rotation is 5,000

A link to the rotary is nice for us to have some more information.

On mine, I checked the motor driver for this informaton…

These are the steps/rotation from my driver board.

First figure out the switch settings… the ‘ON’ direction is usually

Switch settings here indicate 2,000 steps/rotation

That should give you the number you need.

Good luck

Hi Jack. Thanks for your prompt response. I think I didn’t explain myself well. I don’t need the SPRs, I’ve already determined them. in my case they are 15600. My problem is that I cannot write or save that information into my controller.

Did you try it from ‘Edit → Machine Settings → Rotary Parameters’.? Then write it and see if Lightburn advises it wrote it to the controller successfully…

That’s ok, we have to start at the beginning sometimes.

:smile_cat:

Yes, I’ve tried that… Machine settings - Rotary Parameters. write them and LB says: setting written successfully. Then I go to laser tools - rotary setup, and the values there are the default values, as shown in the picture. I click on read settings there and keeps giving me the default values. I change the values there, click ok and nothing happens. and if I click the test button, i get the error message: settings could not be restored to controller after test run.
Thank you for your attention.

Sounds like you are right. I don’t know what to tell you at this point.

Sounds as if you’re doing the right things, but I can’t think of anything to suggest. Hope one of the Lightburn people find it. Maybe they’ve seen it before…

Just a though, can you change other values?

:smile_cat:

Ok, thank You… I appreciate your effort.
Regards.

Just a though, can you change other values?
About that. It seems like I can not. I changed the x acceleration value also, but when I click on read, gives me the default value.

Do you also get an error reading from the controller?

It sounds like you cannot change any of the values…?

If this is the case, I don’t know what you can do… Hope someone else has an answer…

:smile_cat:

Well, thanks anyway. Let’s hope someone come up with an answer soon, cause it’s about to expire the 30-day trial period. (only 3 days to go).

If you send a note to support they will probably extend it…

Might be a good idea to do that anyway with your inability to change the controllers settings. I have never heard of that, but if there is a fix, support probably knows about it.

Make sure they understand you can’t write anything to the Ruida… it’s not just the rotary problem.

I’d just stick them together, as… I have this problem any suggestion on a fix and by the way, my trail license…

They are great people…

Good luck
