I would like to create a table (rows & columns) of power (x axis) versus speed (y axis). My desire would be to have 3 items from the layer palette reserved for (a) text, (b) grid/outline, and © final cutout… in addition to the grid of squares for power/speed combinations. My ideal would be a 10x10 grid of speeds and powers, but my immediate goal is a grid of 8 speeds and 5 powers.
I don’t think this is possible in the current app, although I hope I’m in correct. As I see it, there are 30 possible speed/power combinations (layers 00 through 29).
Questions:
Is there a way to generate a power/speed grid automatically (like the focus test tool)?
Is there a way to add more layers?
How can I make a grid of 100 settings (power/speed) combinations?
Thanks!

These are worth a read.
Power Scale is done using the commands that the DSP controllers use for ramp mode and grayscale output, so it’s explicitly limited to being a percentage of the value between min & max power.
I could, conceivably, have a power override, but there would be pretty rigid limits on the usage because of the way the DSP controllers work. I can change power for an entire set of cuts, for example, but not mid-way through a cut like I can with power scaling. With power scale, you can do this:

note: You may need to turn on the ‘Shape Properties’ window to expose settings (‘Window’>-‘Shape Properties’)
UPDATE
LightBurn now has a very powerful material testing tool built right in! Find it in the top bar menu under ‘Laser Tools > Material Test Generator’
Please check out our documentation for a full run down on all the features: Material Test - LightBurn Software Documentation

No. This limit is a function of the controller and not a LightBurn limitation.
See above.
