A big disappointment from Athomstack.
At the and of january I order iKier K1 pro fiber. It come at 10 of february, and work for 10 seconds on 30% power and stop with E3 message on the fiber box. Try to start again with different power- and work 1-3 sec and end up with this E3 error and stop the laser beam.
On 11.02.2025, I send e-mail to support, and they say- the problem is on motherboard in control box.
They send me one, and the motherboard come on 10 of march. Start to test it, and work arround 10 minutes and stop again with error E3. On the video you can see all the engraving I able to make until the laser beam stops. Try different power, and see with more then 40% stops emmediately, below 40% power work from 1 to 20 seconds (randomly).
So I send email again on support, on 10.03.2025 and to this day 28.03.2025 have no solution! Very profesional. Last email from them is on 18.03.2025 and they say- the laser modul seams to have a problem, and need to they leader approves and agree to return the laser modul, they will send me shipping lable. And I waitā¦and hope the leader to approve returning of the module and maybe replace it with working one soon!
Total of disappointment!

Iāve hunted around and have no idea what an E3 error actually means. Do you or the support people advise you of what an E3 means?
In one of the documents it states to use M3 mode in grbl.
Please note: Engraving vector mode should be set to āM3 modeā.
Follow the steps below to operate: āCuts / Layersā ā āLineā ā āConstant Power Modeā.
There is a grbl-m3 device when you do the setupā¦
Did you get some instructions on how to set it up with Lightburn?
Donāt know enough about the variations of grbl along with I have no idea what an E3 error actually means to really advise, so Iām guessingā¦
Maybe @misken could adviseā¦
If the E3 is a GRBL Error 3 message, this is what it could be:
3 Invalid Statement Grbl ā$ā system command was not recognized or supported.
Do you know these fiber machine produce grbl error codes or is it an assumption?
I donāt know, Iād think the controller would complain, not the laser source.
Not assumption, a guess. āIf the E3 isā¦ā Assumptions are stated as if they were facts when they are not.
I donāt think it would make sense to have the laser source display an error message from grbl.
As far as I know, these are just small fiber laser sources. These generally donāt have any kind of upstream error reporting.
Iād like to hear from the @bacekoko if iKier stated anything about it.
I do not have a fiber so continued participation in the conversation is futile.
This is not true. We learn from each other, so your input is of value to all of us.
Hi, the E3 (error 3) is displayed only on mini display of fiber laser module (where is typical frequency set up with rotary encoden on it). The machine continue the engraved process (but without laser beam to do the job), and no feedback from the fiber laser module to controler.
Support of Athomstack is STUCK. No new answer from them from more then 10 daysā¦
But Iām glad to see some answers here.
Will see the settings again. But I think the problem is on this fiber laser module.
Did Atomstack advise you on the meaning laser source error?
Hello ⦠never heard of āfiberā ⦠if we own the same laser, i would like to help you ā¦
Not sure I follow you. If your machine isnāt a 20W fiber modification, doubt thereās much you can do.
Do you have this module for your machine?
Do you know what the E3 error on the fiber module itself means?
Any help is appreciated.
No, sorry, only a diode laser ā¦
Thatās ok, you have the main machine, but I think this is a fiber source issue.
Try it, on 100% power is less then 20% for real.
This is not the right settings, and also works for some time (less then a minute) and stop the beam with E3.
Did Atomstack give you any indication of what the E3 error means?
They did not mention what is E3 means.
I also try google it, but nothing.
On the one of my videos on first post, you may see I placed a voltmeter on the controling voltage for laser beam- it stais, but beam is stops, so the problem is on the fiber laser module for me 100%.
Agree with the probably solution. I doubt you can google it, as itās relatively new and they donāt appear to be very forthcoming about what types of error codes you can get.
Likely, they donāt want you in the fiber source.
Has Atomstack stated anything about replacing it?
I doubt itās built for any user serviceable work and should last about 100k hours.
Keep us updated.
Thanks man, but mine is with Fiber 20W module.
Need it for clear/and coated aluminum- thats why i order fiber.
Like I say, support is silence from more then 10 days.
On the last e-mail:
10.02.2025
Dear customer,
Once the leader approves and agrees to return the laser module, we will send you a shipping label. Could you please wait for a while ?
On e-mail before:
