Ortur Laser Master 3 making horrible noise when homing

I’ve just turned it on and I use Lightburn. Any suggestions what to do or look for?

Sounds like a hardware problem. Have you used this before or is this the first time? Check that the moving parts are moving freely and that the gantry is aligned. Perhaps you had belts slip or something and they need tightened.

This is my first time starting it. It is level and this is where my tension is set currently for the belts…

That belt looks loose at a glance (from here).
What does the Tension Reference Line do?
Got an owners manual with that neato machine?

That’s way loose, like it was never adjusted upon assembly. Fix it and the other side. I found the little paper instruction wasn’t always clear (its tiny). The manual on the memory card or their website is clearer (larger and I think there was better colour or shading, I found it after I was done.). There’s also a couple videos on YouTube where people take you through the full assembly.

The updated firmware may address this. They’re up to RC29.
