Ruida controller is sending wobbly lines

Hi sorry if this is in the wrong category or has been covered, but everything I’m finding ha been closed with no solution.

I’m on a Bescutter Versa 150W (Ruida controller on V8.01.62 firmware)

Getting these crazy drunk wobbly lines, first assumption was it’s pushing too fast and shaking the head or maybe missing steps but since it’s showing this on the screen it would lead me to believe it’s something else. Has anyone had this experience and solved it?

@Dreadmyers did you ever figure out a solution to this issue?

Not knowing what the design should look like makes it difficult to propose solutions.

Perhaps this is a licensing issue:

If that’s not it, then upload the offending *lbrn2 file so we can take a look at it.

Lines should be straight and circles should be circles. Whatever is coming through the controller appears to be actually telling the machine to cut it this way, why, I have no clue

Actually tried turning my speeds and acceleration wayyyy down (like 50 inches/minute) and still cuts exactly the same deformities, like it’s been programmed to do so repeatedly

If they’re in the Preview, then it’s not a mechanical problem.

Without being able to examine the design file, I have nothing further to offer.

So what it sounds like is I may need to get a PC instead of macbook so I can run RDworks and chalk it up to a wash and just entirely eliminate Lightburn better software for lasers from my workflow  unless hopefully someone knows how to solve this cause I love lightburn but this issue ruins it entirely

Here’s mine from Lightburn if that helps, unfortunately I do not have the ability to run RD works as I’m running mac. Not sure how analyzing the rd files works but
CASS 2.rd (21.7 KB)

I’d upload the lbrn file and ai for reference but looks like the forum won’t allow me to upload these types of files

Would this setting change affect my issue at all? Because mine is just wobbling all the way through a straight line and all circles

Oh nevermind my kerf has always been set to zero. Close to just giving up buying a PC and never looking back which is sad :pensive:

Oh bloody hell - I thought I was talking to one person with one issue. Topic hijacking is one of my least favorite things. Hang on…

Can you also post the corresponding LightBurn project file?

The RD file you posted is clean - it looks like this when imported into LightBurn:

So you can see those lines that appear wavy on your controller screen are totally fine.

Try this: Click ‘Send’ and give the file a name, then use the File button on the controller panel to select the file and run it from there. Sometimes there are communication issues caused by USB driver weirdness on the Mac, and using ‘Send’ instead of ‘Start’ seems to help. You could also try connecting using an Ethernet cable.

Oof I got excited for a minute because I thought it was narrowed down to some kind of connection issue but looks like no. Bottom is with a hard usb connection to computer, top is loading that exact same file I sent you onto a usb drive and loading it onto the controller. As you can see, every messed up curve seems to be exactly identical

In your case this does look mechanical. Try a simple test: draw a square, and a square rotated 45 degrees. Make it about 100mm in size, and run that using the same settings you used above.

If the wobbles happen immediately after leaving a corner, it’s the gantry bouncing.

Unfortunately it is saying the lbrn file is too big to upload

Would this be mechanical even though the preview window is showing me the exact same wavy lines that it is cutting? And then every time it cuts, it’s exactly the same waves no matter where it is on the table?

A LightBurn file that contains two squares is too big to upload?
